On-device print screening · Built for CA AB 2047
SENTINEL screens every print job on the printer itself — detecting and blocking firearm blueprints before a single layer is laid down, while keeping every other file private and every legitimate print untouched.
Why this matters
Regulation caught up with ghost-gun kits — it hasn't caught up with printers. That is exactly the layer SENTINEL protects.

How SENTINEL works
SENTINEL sits between the slicer and the motion planner as a firmware-level screening layer — the last checkpoint before plastic meets plate.
Every print file — local, SD card, LAN, or cloud queue — is intercepted on the printer before the job is released. There is no side door to the motion planner.
A geometric detection model fingerprints the mesh and compares it against firearm-blueprint signatures — frames, receivers, and regulated components — entirely on-device.
Cleared jobs print instantly. Matches are blocked and logged for attestation. Ambiguous geometry gets a deeper second pass — CLEARED REVIEW BLOCKED
Why now
AB 2047 — the California Firearm Printing Prevention Act — would require every 3D printer sold in the state to ship with firearm blocking technology. The bill has cleared the Assembly and two Senate committees. Manufacturers who wait for the deadline will be integrating in a panic; our partners won't.

Building a DOJ-grade detection algorithm in-house means years of dataset curation, adversarial testing, and regulatory navigation. SENTINEL ships it as an integrable layer.
Integration
An embedded SDK designed for printer-class hardware. On-device inference, offline operation, and signed signature-pack updates — no cloud round-trip, no user data leaving the machine.
Certification
False-positive and false-negative behavior are the axes regulators will certify against. Our pipeline is built and measured around exactly those standards, with audit logging and attestation support out of the box.
Privacy
SENTINEL never uploads your customers' designs. Screening happens on the printer, files stay local, and legitimate prints — the other 99.99% — are never interrupted.
Beyond California
New York, Washington, and Colorado are advancing parallel bills. Integrating one certified detection layer prepares your product line for all of them.
